Artist Statement
Art moves like water, ever flowing, shifting in mood, at times tranquil, at others restless, vibrant, and full of energy. It carries a rhythm that is both unpredictable and alive. Light dances across its surface, catching on subtle contours and illuminating what might otherwise go unnoticed, much like reflections shimmering on a stream.
I see my work as more than what exists on the surface. Beneath each layer lies something deeper, an emotional current, a quiet intensity that invites reflection and connection. My art is not only meant to be seen, but to be felt; it is an exploration of what lies within, both in myself and in the world around me.
Like the wind, my art is in constant motion, evolving with experience and perception. I find beauty in simplicity, in fleeting moments that might otherwise be overlooked. It may be a passing glance filled with light in someone’s eyes, or the gentle rhythm of water meeting stone. These small, intimate encounters become the foundation of my work, transformed into something both personal and universal.
There is a sense of longing embedded within my art, a desire to understand more deeply, to see more clearly. It is this curiosity that drives each piece forward, sparking insight and, at times, transformation. My work invites the viewer into that same space of wonder, where meaning unfolds gradually and connection grows over time.
Art, to me, is never fixed. It is ever-evolving, shaped by the world I move through and the lessons I continue to learn. That sense of endless possibility is what excites me most. The idea that each new piece carries the potential for discovery.
Art is never just one thing, and that is what makes it so captivating. It resists definition, existing instead as a living, breathing process.
I hope my work brings you even a fraction of the joy and fulfillment I experience in creating it.

Happy Place
Color Pencil
9" x 12"
This colored pencil drawing of a bird explores the expressive potential of fluorescent color within a representational form. Through the layering and burnishing of pigment, I built up saturated hues that push beyond naturalistic color, creating a sense of vibrancy and visual intensity. The use of high-key, fluorescent tones activates the composition, drawing attention to the contour and form of the bird while emphasizing movement and energy.
Pencil & Charcoal
Poppy
18" x 24"
Pencil
Poppy was our primary model for studio practice, exhibiting grace and beauty as she poised her elongated body in a sculpture-like physique. Using controlled shading and smooth blending techniques, I built up layers of graphite to create soft transitions in value, capturing the subtle contours of her form and enhancing the sense of volume and realism.
Vanity
18" x 24"
Charcoal
My portrait intermixes elements of bone structure and flesh, exploring the contrast between external appearance and internal reality. Using charcoal as the medium, I applied techniques such as blending, smudging, and layering to build rich tonal values. The deep contrasts and soft transitions emphasize the underlying skeletal structure beneath the surface, reinforcing the theme of vanity as a focus on outward appearance without full awareness of what lies within.
Chalk pastels
Nude in Chair
18" x 24"
Chalk Pastel
My use of cold and warm colors brings out the natural lighting and mood of the room. The saturation of greens and blues highlights her collarbone and arm. These flourescent colors dim as they cascade down the length of her body and unfolds into a soft mellow hue of yellow and peaches tinted with a splash of purple to create balance within the composition.
Three Musketeers

Oil on Canvas
These three beloved pets were done in a realistic style that captured each one of their individual personalities through the twinkle of their eyes and modeling of their faces.
Still Life
3' x 4 '
Oil on Canvas
Through the strategic placement of inanimate objects, I established depth across the foreground, middle ground, and background. The use of textured paint and careful shadowing enhances the work’s realism while contributing to a balanced composition. The proportions of the figures juxtapose effectively with everyday objects, offering a glimpse into daily life. My approach is reminiscent of René Magritte’s perspective as explored in his paintings through use of commnon place objects.
